Three Phase AC380V KW22 Low Current High Torque Electric Motor Air Conditioning Compressor/Heat Pump Soft Starter

 

RJ-RSSU380KW22 provides an effective solution in reduction of start-up current, typically up to 70%, but still provides full startup torque for compressors and motors. Across the line starting of air-conditioner compressor or induction motors is accompanied by inrush currents up to 7-8 times higher than running current, and starting torque up to 3 times higher than running torque. The increased unnecessary torque results in sudden mechanical stress on the machine which leads to increased wear and higher service costs and reduced service life. Moreover, the high inrush current and current peaks may stress the power supply system to increased mains and generator loads which may lead to voltage dips results in breaking down of other valuable equipment or system function.

RJ-RSSU380KW22 is an embedded design soft start controller. It regulates the start-up voltage of the compressor/motor intelligently to effectively reduce the inrush and surge current while starting-up, thus consume much less power from the public utility network or on-site AC power supply system but still provides full startup torque for compressors and motors. RJ-RSSU380KW22 effective limits the inrush current and so improves stability of the power supply and reduces transient voltage drops that may affect or break down other loads. This will eliminate the need of over dimension of the power supply system which results in reduce capital expenditure investment in power supply capacity, charge meter, circuit breaker and power wire line capacity etc..and extend the service life of the motor or compressor effectively.
RJ-RSSU380KW22 is suitable for all three-phase air conditioner and heat pump and motor with horse power less than 22kw

Wiring Instruction


RJ-RSSU380KW22 soft start controller adopts terminal block connection mode, the connection is convenient and reliable, and the control circuit is connected by screw fastening terminal. The bypass is external bypass mode, which makes the circuit work more reliably.

● KW1 is the main contact of the open circuit AC contactor
● KM1 is the coil of the open circuit AC contactor
● KW2 is the main contact of the bypass AC contactor
● KM2 is the coil of the bypass AC contactor
● QA1 is the AC circuit breaker
● KR is a thermal protection relay, and its common open point No. is used in this circuit
● !RUN is the boot signal, the switch is on when power is on, and the switch is off when power is off.
● L1, L2, L3 are connection terminals of three phase power supply
● R, S, T are input terminals, connect with KW1 and QA1
● U, V, W are output terminals, connect with the load (only resistance or inductive load, can not receive capacitive load!!!)
● L and N are power control terminals. I1 is operation input control terminal. I2 is protection input terminal, and this terminal can not be connected in general applications
● COM1 is the common contact of relay 1. NO1 is the normally opened contact of relay 1. NC1 is the normally closed contact of relay 1. Relay controls the bypass contactor in the second circuit, the capacity is 2A/250VAC.
● COM2 is the common contact of relay 2. NO2 is the normally opened contact of relay 2. NC2 is the normally closed contact of relay 2. Relay controls the bypass contactor in the second circuit, the capacity is 2A/250VAC.

1. Encoder and code switch


A. Four bit code switch (S2)
● 0000 indicates a constant rise from 150V
● 1000 indicates soft stop function
● 0100 indicates step rise (S3 is step voltage setting)
● 0001 indicates a constant rise from 100V
● 0010 indicates a constant rise from 250V
● 0011 indicates a constant rise from 300V
B. Encoder input function
● Voltage is selected as step up (S3)
The setting value from 0000~1111 is 150v~310v, and 10V is a voltage unit;
● Soft start time choice (S1)
From the 0000~1111 set as the "biggest soft starting time (soft starter output voltage reaches the maximum output voltage)" for 2s~17s, with 1s as a unit of time. But the actual soft starting time according to the load of the motor to decide, because when the output voltage reaches the maximum value, or when the motor runs normally (the speed reaches the rated value), it will be out of soft start state. It is shown that if the output voltage of the soft starter does not reach the maximum value, if the motor has been in normal operation, it will also be out of soft start state (soft start into the bypass operation state).
